IND vs BAN 2nd test: Part of Kanpur Stadium risks Fall if ‘Fans start Jumping’

India is set to take on Bangladesh in the final Test of the two-match series at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. India will clean sweep Bangladesh if the team manages to beat the visitors in this Test as well. However, according to a report, the match might turn out to pose a threat, as one part of the stadium has been declared dangerous and can also break down.

The report states that before the start of the match, Balcony C of the stadium has been declared unfit by the PWD. The balcony is also under the risk of collapsing if the complete capacity of 4800 people gets filled. As a result, only 1700 of the 4800 tickets for Balcony C have been sold.

“The PWD has raised some issues and we have agreed that we will not sell all the tickets of Balcony C. We have been told to sell only 1700 tickets for the stand, which has a capacity of 4800. The repair work will continue for the next couple of days,” said Ankit Chatterjee, CEO of the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association.

One of the engineers who visited this ‘dangerous’ part of the stadium stated that Balcony C is in desperate needs of repair, as it will not be able to bear the weight of even 50 fans, if they start jumping.

“This stand won’t be able to take the weight of even 50 fans if they start jumping… This part of the stadium is in dire need of repair,” the engineer stated.
