Hiring event set for new Voorheesville tavern

VOORHEESVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Blackbirds Tavern in Voorheesville is getting ready to open by holding a hiring event on Saturday, September 28 from noon to 5 p.m. As announced in August, Druthers Brewing Company is in charge of managing the tavern.

With the new agreement to manage the Business for Good restaurant, Druthers will be donating a percentage of sales to Business for Good to fund youth sports in the Capital Region. Blackbirds Tavern will be serving upscale pub-style comfort foods like shepherd’s pie, burgers, steak, and more.

Druthers is hiring for all positions including managers, cooks, bartenders, hosts, and waitstaff. Resumes can be sent to info@druthersbrewing.com. The event is being held at 43 South Main Street in Voorheesville.

The tavern is located right next to Blackbirds Bike Cafe, which Business for Good opened in May. Business for Good also owns Hattie's Restaurants and the Bread Basket Bakery & Cake Shop.

Druthers has locations in Albany, Schenectady, Clifton Park, Saratoga Springs, and on Saratoga Lake. Blackbirds Tavern is expected to open sometime in mid-October.
