Supporter Liaison Officers Confirmed

The club were delighted with the level of response to the advertisement for these positions. As a result, it took us slightly longer than expected to work through the applications and interview process, however we believe we have a strong, committed team now in place.

Pete is a lifelong Queen’s fan, a season ticket holder and currently is Head of Product Development at a large manufacturing and supply business. Keith is one of the most well-known faces around the club, is secretary of the Supporters’ Association and has not missed a competitive Queen’s game since a midweek cup replay at Peterhead in January 1979. Andy is a civil engineer and a huge fan of the Spiders.

Although these are club appointments, the SLOs will work independently with the overarching aim of bringing the club and fan base closer together. Having formalised these roles for the first time, how the SLO team will operate is a blank canvas to be developed.

Queen’s supporters will be able to raise comments, concerns, and suggestions with the SLOs, who will be responsible for bringing this information back to the Club on their behalf as required, with the aim of improving two-way communications between supporters and the club. The SLOs will have a presence at Hampden just inside the turnstiles as well as being accessible at away fixtures. Further details on how to contact the SLOs by email etc will be advised in due course.

Commenting on these appointments, club President Graeme Shields said “ Supporter Liaison is something the Club is keen to improve and expand. To show our commitment to this, rather than put the responsibility of the role on an individual, we have decided to use the skillset available to us and have a Supporter Liaison Team. I look forward to seeing the Team’s progress and how they develop this vital role.”
