M20 traffic at standstill as TfL issues update on cyber attack
It’s been an eventful travel day already – and now there is more drama after a horse escaped onto the M20 while TfL gave an update on the cyber attack.
An escape artist horse is wreaking havoc on traffic on the M20 in Kent where lanes have been closed until the animal is taken to safety.
Meanwhile, Transport for London is reeling from the cyber attack which targeted its systems but failed to harm physical transport services. However, thousands of customers’ details were exposed. They have now been contacted, the Guardian reports.
ShashiVerma, TfL’s chief technology officer, said the situation ‘continues to evolve’ after a 17-year-old boy was arrested and questioned two weeks ago.
The contactless expansion to 47 additional stations outside London has also been delayed after the hacking.
