But what if you could give your tresses the love they need and turn into a real-life Rapunzel without forking out a fortune?

Well, one woman claims to have achieved just that, following three simple steps that gave her mane a jaw-dropping makeover.

Taking to TikTok, Abbey Tameron explained she was told that ”nothing can fix the density, breakage and thinning” of her redhead tresses and that she should just embrace them.

But instead of simply accepting that this would be the state of her hair for the rest of the life, Abbey decided to take matters into her own hands.

Here’s how she did it…

Hydration station

Sharing her top tips, the stunner, whose locks you might mistake for hair extensions, emphasised the importance of drinking water.

”It actually does help. There’s science behind it,” said the certified hair and scalp expert.

According to the guru, who posts under the username @abbeyjtameron, consuming water aids with blood flow – which in turn helps with hair growth.

What’s more, not only is water a key nutrient for hair and lubricates hair follicles but it can also prevent numerous scalp issues, such as dryness, itchiness, and dandruff, the pros at New Image Hair Clinic added.

Give your scalp some TLC

We all know just how pleasant a massage on our body can feel – but it’s not just our muscles and stress levels that can benefit from this.

According to the stunner, giving your scalp a massage is not only relaxing but also aids with hair growth.

”Make sure your hands are clean and literally two to five minutes a day, just a gentle scalp massage.

”Do not use your nails, just use the pad of your fingers.”

Demonstrating the easy tip, the young woman explained that this will stimulate blood vessels, which can increase the amount of nutrients and oxygen that reach hair follicles.

If you want to enhance the relaxation benefits of scalp massage and make yourself feel like at spa, you can also use aromatherapy oils or a scalp massage oil.

The 4 stages of the hair growth cycle

Hair experts at Philip Kingsley shared the four stages of the hair growtn cycle are: Anagen, Catagen, Telogen and Exogen

Anagen Phase: Also known as the ‘Growth Phase’ or ‘Active Phase’, is when the cells in the root of your hair are most rapidly dividing so more new hair is formed.

During the Anagen Phase, hair grows around half an inch a month [about six inches a year], and faster in the summer than in winter.

This phase of the hair growth cycle lasts an average of three to five years.

Catagen Phase: Following the Anagen Phase, your hair cycle enters a short transitional phase known as the Catagen Phase, which signals the end of active hair growth and cuts individual hairs off from the blood supply and from the cells that produce new hair.

Approximately three percent of all hairs are in this stage at any time and it lasts for around 10 days.

Telogen Phase: The third stage of your natural hair growth cycle is the Telogen Phase, a resting period when strands remain in their follicles but are not actively growing.

An estimate of 10-15 percent of your hairs are in the Telogen Phase at any given moment.

The Telogen Phase lasts around three months or 100 days.

Exogen Phase: The final stage of the Hair Growth Cycle, when individual hair strands are released from their follicles and fall out.

Now the whole process begins again.

Stop shampooing your ends

Last but not least, the guru urged fellow beauty buffs to stop shampooing their ends and instead, focus on the scalp.

”I promise, it will work. I have not shampooed my ends in five years.”

When your tresses are wet, she warned, they’re ”super fragile” and the harsh scrubbing and scrunching ” will cause a lot of unnecessary breakage”.

”So try it, trust me.”
