WATCH: Dog bravely kills king cobra to save lives of children in UP’s Jhansi; Video viral
A pit bull named Jenny heroically saved the lives of children in Jhansi by attacking and killing a venomous King Cobra. The incident occurred on Monday, September 23, in the Shiv Ganesh colony, where the children of a house’s domestic help were playing in the garden. Upon spotting the deadly snake, the children screamed for help, prompting Jenny, who was tied up at the other end of the garden, to react swiftly. She broke free from her leash and rushed to confront the cobra.
In a video of the incident, Jenny can be seen gripping the cobra tightly in her jaws, aggressively shaking her head to subdue the snake. The battle lasted around five minutes, with Jenny repeatedly slamming the cobra until it eventually succumbed to its injuries.

Jenny’s owner, Punjab Singh, revealed that this wasn’t her first encounter with a snake, as living near fields has led to frequent snake sightings, particularly during the rainy season. He shared that Jenny has killed around eight to ten snakes in the past, showcasing her protective instincts.
“This wasn’t the first snake we’ve encountered, because our house is near the fields, and several snakes have been spotted during the rainy season. So far, Jenny has killed around 8 to 10 snakes,” he told NDTV.
He also touched on the misconceptions surrounding pit bulls, often considered aggressive and dangerous. However, he defended Jenny, stating, “People often say negative things about pit bulls, but mine has never harmed anyone. She saved lives and earned our gratitude.”
He also said that once, a bull saved his brother’s life and that they have a mongoose too which doesn’t let mice enter the house.
