Zebroski double sees off Ciren
For the first time this season, Royal Wootton Bassett Town seem to have hit a strong patch of form.
Sam Collier's side made it three games unbeaten in the Hellenic League Premier Division as Bassett edged out a 3-2 derby victory against Cirencester Town.
And it was a Chris Zebroski double that proved vital for Bassett as the veteran forward made his mark, taking his personal tally to three goals in three games.
He opened the scoring on 21 minutes with a cool first time finish after fine work from right back Noah Coates, who danced his way past two defenders before cutting back for Zebroski to steer in from six yards out.
Tommy Ouldridge then opened his account for the season six minutes later to double Bassett's advantage as he stabbed home.
Bassett were now in control of the match.
But they were not to be in for a comfortable night.
The second half in particular proved rocky with Cirencester battling their way back into the match.
A penalty shortly after the restart afforded the visitors a lifeline which Jack Horrell grabbed as he sent James Foster the wrong way.
Bassett's two goal lead was restored on the hour as Zebroski steered home after Alfie Presley headed a towering cross back across the face of goal.
That goal ultimately proved vital as Cirencester, who upped their game in the second period, gave Bassett plenty to think about.
And their efforts were rewarded again when youngster Harley Arnold made it 3-2 with six minutes to go.
Ultimately that proved too little, too late though as Bassett saw out the remaining time to earn victory and move within touching distance of the top half.
