Cat-astrophe avoided as Austin firefighter rescues cat from car engine

AUSTIN (KXAN) — It might not have been a cat stuck in a tree, but the Austin Fire Department did rescue a feline trapped in a vehicle's engine.

AFD shared the happy news in a social media post Tuesday afternoon. AFD Firefighters Burns saved the cat after he had crawled into the engine compartment of a vehicle and "got his ear stuck in a serpentine belt."

While his form of a "thank you" might've involved some claws, AFD said the cat reunited with his family following the incident.
