Acadia Crime Stoppers asks for help identifying suspect in counterfeit check scheme
ACADIA PARISH, La. (KLFY) -- The Crowley Police Department needs help identifying a suspect in an alleged counterfeit check scheme, according to Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish.
According to a news release, a business in Crowley issued a check for payment to a vendor. By unknown means, the check somehow made it into the hands of a man who allegedly duplicated signatures and other information.
Authorities said the suspect attempted to deposit a counterfeit check into a bank account at a Lafayette bank by using an ATM.

The suspect is described as a Black male with a thin build. He is believed to be in his late teens to mid-twenties. Authorities said the suspect is seen in ATM video wearing a red Los Angeles Angels baseball cap and a black sweatshirt with red writing.
