Police identify suspect, victim of fatal shooting at TriMet MAX station
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – More details are coming forward about a shooting at a TriMet MAX station that resulted in the death of a 24-year-old man in Portland on Thursday.
Officers responded to the MAX Blue Line stop near East Burnside and 148th Avenue on reports of a shooting around 7:26 p.m. on Sept 19. When they arrived, they found Taysean Nash dead at the scene.
A medical examiner later determined Nash’s death was a homicide by gunshot wound.
“He touched many lives and had friends from all walks of life,” Nash’s mother said. “He loved and protected ALL of his siblings no matter what. And he is VERY LOVED by many.”
The man accused in the shooting, 42-year-old Felix Angelo Juarez-Perez, was arrested and currently faces charges of second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon.
