Noteworthy: Baltazar-Shine has been a critical piece of Taft’s efforts at setter. She was named the Varsity Bellflower Tournament’s MVP on Sept. 14. Taft went 6-0 in matches at the tournament to get out to a 21-4 overall start. The Toreadors started 3-0 in West Valley League play.
