India-England Test at Lord’s: Ticket Prices on the Rise for Next Summer

0

Even if the crowd for the match against Sri Lanka this season was not very enthusiastic, the cost of tickets for the Lord’s Test between India and England next summer has gone up once more.

Marylebone Cricket Club, the owner of Lord, has faced backlash over the cost of tickets for England’s Test match against Sri Lanka this summer.

India and England’s five-match Test series will off on June 20. The third match is set to take place at Lord’s on July 10.

The least expensive seats for India’s match in the Lord’s Test cost ninety pounds apiece and have limited views. Fans would have to pay anywhere from 120 to 175 pounds for unrestricted access, according to ESPNcricinfo.

For the Test match against Sri Lanka last month, tickets with restricted views cost between 115 and 140 pounds. Just 9,000 fans attended the match on day four, which was only one-third of the stadium’s capacity.

After the Australian Ashes series, the home series versus India is the second most popular draw.

Ollie Pope, the stand-in captain for England, had expressed disappointment at the poor attendance following the Test match against Sri Lanka.

Pope had stated, “It was just like, ‘Jeez, it seems quiet today.'”

“I’m not sure whether anyone anticipated finishing the game by day four. It’s unfortunate that there wasn’t a full house because the play that day was clearly excellent.”
