Local wildlife preserve holds astronomy party, campfire chat
WILTON, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Wilton Wildlife Preserve and Park will host a campfire chat and astronomy party at Camp Saratoga on Friday, Oct. 4. Local astronomy researchers and groups will share their knowledge of constellations while gathered around a campfire.
Space is limited for the free event, and anyone interested must make a reservation at least a day before the event through the Wilton Wildlife Preserve and Park website. The program is from 7 to 8:30 p.m.; attendees should dress warmly for the chilly fall evening and can indulge in some smores and hot cocoa around the fire.
Some groups participating in the program, including Astronomy Coordinator Howard Lester, Albany Area Ameture Astronomers, and Adirondack Skywalkers, will be equipped with telescopes for a closer look at the stars. Anyone with questions can call the wildlife preserve at (518) 450-0321 or email info@wiltonpreserve.org.
