OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA) is preparing to widen a section of the Turner Turnpike and the City of Stroud is working on the ensuring the detours don't turn into a nightmare for its residents.
The construction is set to impact the town of Stroud. Construction crews are seeking to extend the toll roads to three lanes in each direction. Service roads have been built ahead of the construction.
According to OTA, additional lanes will be added each direction and a bridge replacement on I-44. OTA and The City of Stroud are working together to reduce the traffic concerns and avoid miles of detours.
