Cats are considered lucky in some cultures – but this takes it to a whole new level.

Monkey the cat has a habit of bringing weird items home, such as a Wetherspoons menu, a coffee sachet, and even KFC chicken.

But owner Megan Christian couldn’t believe her luck with the one-year-old’s latest find – a winning scratch card.

It meant Megan pocketed £10 thanks to her feline’s collecting habit.

‘When she brought home the scratch card I couldn’t believe it – I was like, ‘really, a winning scratch card?, Megan said.

‘It really intrigued me. I have no idea where she gets these things from.

‘But every time she’s back I’m like, ‘Oh wow, what has she got now?”

Footage of the mixed-breed from Pezance, Cornwall, shows the cat climbing up on the roof of her home, when Megan asks: ‘Monkey, where have you been and what have you got?’

Monkey’s affinity for collecting started with wall plugs six months ago before she brought home a child’s dummy and a stuffed pickle, which Megan calls their ’emotional support pickle’.

Monkey isn’t the only animal that has come home with a surprise lately.

Nicci Knight, from Yorkshire, was on holiday when her neighbours told her her beloved cat Ted had drowned in their pond.

But after arranging for a funeral and cremation to take place while still on holiday, Ted wandered back into the family home.
