Here's Why 'Matlock' Episode 2 Won't Air Until October 17

Matlock‘s first episode was given a special early premiere by CBS on Sunday (September 22), but you’ll have to wait a while longer to see episode 2.

If you didn’t see, many believed the Kathy Bates-starrer was just going to be a reboot of the original TV show Matlock, which aired in the late 1980s-early 1990s. However, a big twist at the end of the premiere episode confirmed that the series actually has a totally different, clandestine premise!

As a result of CBS’ decision to give fans an early sneak peek at the debut episode of the series, you won’t be seeing episode two until CBS’ official “premiere week” next month.

CBS actually doesn’t have their premiere week until the week of October 14, when all of their scripted TV shows will officially return with new seasons.

If you didn’t see Matlock‘s first episode, CBS will be re-airing it on Thursday (October 10). Then, episode 2 will air one week later on Thursday (October 17) at 9pm ET. New episodes will air each Thursday after.
