China urges citizens to leave Israel amid rising tensions with Hezbollah
China, in response to escalating tensions between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon, has urged its citizens in Israel to leave the country as soon as possible.
In a statement issued on Monday, September 23, the Chinese Embassy in Australia described the situation at the Israel-Lebanon border as “highly tense.”
The embassy also characterized the security situation in Israel as “complex” and “unpredictable,” advising Chinese residents to depart from the country immediately.
This comes after a sharp rise in tensions at the Israel-Lebanon border since Saturday afternoon.
Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati accused Israel of plotting to destroy Lebanon following widespread Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres has also warned that the escalating tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border could lead to a crisis similar to that in Gaza.
The rising hostilities between Hezbollah and Israel have intensified fears of a full-scale conflict in the region. With each side ramping up military actions, the situation grows more volatile, drawing international attention and concern.
This escalation threatens not only Lebanon’s stability but also the broader Middle East, as the potential for wider conflict looms, exacerbating humanitarian crises in the region.
