Japan's Nikkei posts 3-week closing high on Wall Street strength, dovish BOJ

Japan's Nikkei share average rose to a three-week high, closing at 37,940.59, driven by Wall Street's gains and dovish comments from the Bank of Japan. Electronic component maker TDK led the rise with a 4.21% jump, while Tokyo Electron fell 0.93%. The broader Topix index also saw gains.
