Upcoming EastEnders scenes reveal new turmoil for Yolande Trueman[/caption] She learns villain Pastor Clayton, who sexually assaulted her, has taken his own life[/caption] Earlier scenes saw the Pastor confront Yolande, asking her to change her statement against him[/caption]Earlier this year, she bravely opened up about her sexual assault at the Pastor’s hands.
Although Yolande reported the villain to police, there initially wasn’t enough evidence.
However, things had started to look up when police decided to charge him with two counts of assault.
Prior to the villain’s death, Yolande is hesitant about attending the Harvest Festival celebrations.
As Patrick tries to convince her, DS Amartey (Eva Fontaine) arrives, revealing another woman has come forward in the case against Pastor Clayton.
In the meantime, Yolande is inspired by Amy’s (Ellie Dadd) strength and heads to the Community Centre.
Things soon sour, however, as the Pastor’s wife Stella (Velile Tshabalala) arrives.
Asking Yolande to retract her statement, Stella soon receives some home truths.
Later, Pastor Clayton interrupts Yolande at home and demands to speak with her.
After asking his victim to change her statement, he is left reeling upon realising she won’t.
He swiftly leaves after Denzel (Jaden Ladenga) arrives and marches him out.
Patrick, Howie (Delroy Atkinson) and Kim (Tameka Empson) are shocked to learn about what happened – but it’s clear Yolande has found strength by standing up for herself.
Shortly afterwards, she learns of Pastor Clayton’s suicide which changes everything.
With the storyline spanning several months, horrifying scenes in April saw the Pastor sexually assault Yolande following previous over-familiar behaviour.
She struggled to stop herself from breaking down and rushed into the launderette in the aftermath.
Since the assault, Yolande sought justice and became aware of other women targeted by Pastor Clayton.
What will the ramifications from the villain’s death be?
