Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index surges over 3 pct

HONG KONG, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong's stock market saw widespread gains in morning trading Tuesday after a slew of measures announced by China's central bank to bolster the economy.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index surged over 3 percent to surpass 18,800 points, the highest level since May this year, while the Hang Seng Tech Index surged over 3.8 percent during morning trading.
