Have you seen him? St. Landry Parish officials seek help locating escaped inmate
ST. LANDRY PARISH, La. (KLFY) -- The St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office is asking for help locating an inmate who escaped custody Friday afternoon.
According to a news release, Raymond Latrelle Howard, 33, allegedly kicked out a window of a transport van while it was stopped at a red light at U.S. 190 and Wallior Street in Opelousas. This reportedly occurred just after noon on Friday, Sept. 20.
Authorities said Howard was being transported from Claiborne Parish to Opelousas for a court appearance when the escape occurred.
Howard faces charges including third-degree rape, escape, burglary, and weapons charges, authorities said.
Authorities said Howard is a Black male who is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs 130 pounds.
