CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- According to the State Police, they were assisted by the Albany Federal Bureau of Investigation Joint Terrorism Task Force in arresting a Clifton Park teen on Sunday. The unnamed teen allegedly made a threat against Queensbury High School and faces multiple charges.
Charges
- Making a terroristic threat
- Second-degree criminal impersonation
- Making a threat of mass harm
Troopers say they received information that a threat of mass harm was made on social media towards the high school on Saturday. State Police report that its investigation determined the 15-year-old from Clifton Park allegedly accessed the social media account of someone else and posted the threat.
According to law enforcement, the teen did not attend Queensbury High School. They were arrested at their home and then issued an appearance ticket to return to Saratoga County Family Court before being released to their guardian.
The Queensbury School District responded to the situation with a statement saying, "The State Police in collaboration with the FBI worked on this until late Sunday night. Police have assured the district there is no reason to be concerned for the safety of the students. We appreciate our partnership with the State Police, FBI, and the Warren County Sheriff’s Department. The safety of our students is imperative. As always, if you see something, say something."
