Bruins Announce Roster For Preseason Matchup Vs. Capitals
Bruins hockey was back on the ice last weekend as the Black and Gold kicked off its preseason schedule with a 3-2 loss to the New York Rangers at TD Garden.
Boston fans will get a second look at the team on Tuesday night when the Bruins host the Washington Capitals for their second preseason tilt at the Garden. Eight players who spent time sporting the Spoked-B last season -- Justin Brazeau, Patrick Brown, Trent Frederic, Marc McLaughlin, Matt Poitras, Brandon Carlo, Hampus Lindholm, Ian Mitchell -- are expected to be in the lineup for the Bruins.
The Bruins coaching staff will get their first game-action look at goaltender Joonas Korpisalo, who the Bruins acquired from the Ottawa Senators as part of the trade for Linus Ullmark. Korpisalo is expected to share the netminding duties with Michael DiPietro.
Forwards Fabian Lysell, Georgii Merkulov, Riley Tufte and Jaxon Nelson, and defensemen Jordan Oesterle and Bill Sweezey will play in their second game of the preseason. Sweezey, Merkulov and Nelson all registered an assist in Boston's loss Sunday night.
