Local non-profit collects Halloween costumes, candy

LANSINGBURGH, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- The Lansingburgh Boys and Girls Club is hosting a clothing and costume drop-off to promote sustainable options to local families this Halloween. Families can participate in the costume drop-off on Saturday, Oct. 5, or pick up a free costume on Saturday, Oct. 12.

Families must RSVP by completing separate forms online for the Drip Drop Day and Pick-A-Fit Day. Both events are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club on 4th Avenue in Troy.

Candy donations are being collected at the events for the non-profit's annual Trunk or Treat on Halloween. The Boys and Girls Club also hosts a Candy Drive with three drop-off locations, including the Troy Public Library's Lansingburgh branch on 114th Street, the Troy Public Library on Second Street, and the Boys and Girls Club.
