Anderlecht fire Riemer after slow start to season and Europa League about to start
September 23 – Anderlecht have dismissed their Danish coach Brian Riemer following a series of underwhelming performances at the start of the new Belgian league season.
A 2-0 defeat at home to Racing Genk prompted the club hierarchy to move and part ways with Riemer after one year and nine months. In a statement, Anderlecht wrote said “the club management evaluated the team’s performance as insufficient and has therefore decided to end the collaboration.”
The Dane arrived from Brentford and guided Anderlecht to the last eight of the Conference League.
