Afghanistan’s national bodybuilding team to compete in 15th World Championship

0

Athletes from Afghanistan’s Bodybuilding Federation have recently announced that they will soon participate in the World Bodybuilding Championship at their own expense.

Officials from the Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation announced on Sunday, September 22, that the Maldives will host the 15th edition of the World Bodybuilding Championship.

According to the athletes, over nine athletes will represent Afghanistan in these international competitions.

This comes after Afghanistan’s national bodybuilding team secured 10 medals in the 14th South Asian Bodybuilding Championship.

In the competition held in the Maldives, Afghan athletes won three gold medals, five silver medals, and two bronze medals.

Afghanistan finished third among seven South Asian countries, earning 370 points in the competition.

Despite these remarkable achievements, Afghan athletes face numerous challenges, including a lack of financial and intellectual support at regional and international levels.

They are forced to self-fund their participation in global events without sponsorship or proper backing.

The ongoing plight of Afghan athletes, who struggle to raise their country’s flag on the world stage, highlights the urgent need for better support systems and resources to enable them to continue competing and achieving success.
