Spruce Kings Fall 4-0 to Rivermen

The Prince George Spruce Kings fell 4-0 on to the Langley Rivermen Sunday afternoon at the George Preston Rec Centre, finishing a 3-game road trip with 4 of a possible 6 points.

The Rivermen opened the scoring at 15:26 of the first period, as Ryan Schelling scored on the power play, snapping a shot over the glove hand of Carter Wishart to make it 1-0.

In the middle frame, Carsten Kayter had a pair of goals as the Rivermen made it 2-0 at 2:31 on the power play, and then 3-0 at 6:41.  Both goals were fired from the point and found their way past Wishart.

Ryder Green would replace Wishart after the third goal, who stopped 14 of 17 shots.

The Rivermen rounded out the scoring at 4:11 of the third period, when Tyler Chan’s one-timer beat Green from between the circles.

Bodee Weiss made 15 saves for the Rivermen to pick up his first BCHL Shutout.
