Her daughter shared the heartbreaking news on Facebook.

Paying tribute to her mum she said: “This is the hardest thing I have ever had to write.

“We’ve lost our mum, nan, sister and wife this morning at 10.46am.

“I don’t know how to put this into words anymore.

“Even though you are no longer here with me, I can still feel your love guiding me. You are always in my heart.”

Charlene’s grandson also paid tribute, describing her as someone “who meant the absolute world to everyone who knew her”.

He added: “I love you so much and it’s so tragic to hear what happened. It doesn’t feel real.”

Residents in Canterbury Road, Charing, are still struggling to come to terms with Charlene’s death.

Suzzane Black wrote: “I’m so sorry for your loss.

“Your mum was a lovely lady and will be missed. Your family are in my thoughts.”

Lena-Marie Cooper commented: “I’ve got some fond memories of my time spent with Char up her house whilst the kids played.

“Will miss seeing her at the local shop most days. Sending so much love to you all.”

Charlene’s neighbours in in Canterbury Road, Charing, have offered support to the family as they cope with their loss.

Gem Burgess said: “As a community, I know we will be there to help if and when you need it.”

“Be assured the community is thinking of you all and will be there to help you through,” added Ada Leece.

The cause of the explosion is not yet known.

Five fire engines, a bulk water carrier and a fire investigation team were called to the blaze.

Investigators are looking at the possibility the blast may have been caused by a gas leak.

A neighbour who heard the explosion told KentOnline: “It was an unimaginable bang – everything shook and you can see where the bungalow was.

“You wouldn’t wish it on anyone.”

A fire service spokesperson said at the time: “Kent Fire and Rescue Service can confirm that the woman taken to hospital following the explosion and fire yesterday in Canterbury Road, Charing, has died.

“The investigation into the cause of the explosion continues.

“Crews and fire investigation officers have revisited the scene of a bungalow fire, following an explosion, this morning on Canterbury Road in Charing.

“This is to make sure there are no remaining hotspots, and to continue the investigation into the cause.”
