COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- Four juveniles are in custody after they crashed a stolen car near the Ohio Statehouse Sunday evening, police said.

According to Columbus Police Sgt. James Fuqua, a man was carjacked at gunpoint near East Main Street and Lilley Avenue at approximately 6:30 p.m.

About 30 minutes later, officers spotted the stolen vehicle and tried to stop it, but the car kept driving. A police helicopter kept track of the car until it got downtown, where it crashed at East Broad Street and 3rd Street near the Statehouse. The stolen car then hit a parked car on East Broad Street.

Fuqua said four juveniles -- two 14-year-old and two 15-year-old boys -- got out of the car, which is when they were taken into custody.

"It appeared that the stolen vehicle ran through a red light through the traffic intersection, striking another vehicle," Fuqua said. "And like I said, the impact was so aggressive that the suspect vehicle continued to go past the intersection a good 100 feet away, so at this point, like I said, all four suspects are in custody."

The suspects were taken to Nationwide Children's Hospital as a precaution. Fuqua said no one was seriously injured in the incident.

Officers are continuing to investigate the incident.
