Clear morning with yellow warning for intense afternoon storms

A yellow weather warning is in place on Monday with rain intensity expected to range between 35 and 55 millimeters per hour, in effect from 12 noon until 6pm and possible hail.

The day will start off clear with clouds gradually moving in to bring local showers and isolated thunderstorms in the mountains, the south, and the interior. Temperatures will rise to 30C in the interior, 28C on the coasts, and 21C in the higher mountains. Winds will be mainly south- to north-westerly, weak to moderate, up to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be somewhat rough.

Overnight increased clouds, mainly on the coasts, may bring further showers. Temperatures will drop to 19C in the interior, 20C on the coast, and 11C in the higher mountains. Winds will be mainly south-to north-westerly, weak, 3 Beaufort. The sea will be calmer.

Tuesday will be mostly clear with afternoon showers mainly in the mountains. Wednesday and Thursday will be sunny with temperatures set to rise to slightly above the seasonal norms.
