Man struck and killed on the Brooklyn Queens Expressway: DOT
BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) -- An investigation is underway after a man was struck and killed on the Brooklyn Queens Expressway Saturday morning, according to the Department of Transportation.
The incident happened around 5:25 a.m. near 86th Street, officials said.
Police responded to a 911 call and located a 46-year-old man unconscious and unresponsive lying in the roadway, officials said.
He was pronounced dead on the scene by EMS.
Preliminary investigation determined that the man was walking on the highway when he was struck by a 2012 Nissan Frontier traveling east, officials said. Vehicles unknowingly ran him over.
The driver remained on the scene. No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.
