Bill Belichick To Eagles? Buzz Grows Louder After Nick Sirianni Stinker

The Philadelphia Eagles watched their head coach catch even more heat after questionable decisions against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

Nick Sirianni kept his offense on the field on fourth down twice in strange situations to close out the first half and start the second half in New Orleans. Philadelphia went just 1-for-3 on fourth down, leaving points on the board at least once in those sequences. That especially stood out given Philadelphia outgained the Saints, 460-219.

Star running back Saquon Barkley erupted for 147 yards and two touchdowns, yet the Eagles had just 15 points to show for it. The Philadelphia defense stepped up to hold a previously high-flying Saints offense to just 12 points to preserve the win.

The final score did not save Sirianni from scrutiny yet again for a team that entered 2-7 in its last nine games.

The Eagles move to 2-1, but there's visible issues with Philadelphia's production. If Sirianni's days eventually are numbered in Philadelphia, rumors will likely (and should?) swirl of a potential replacement.

Legendary head coach Bill Belichick continues his media work without a coaching job this season after parting ways with the dynasty he built with the New England Patriots. The links to Philadelphia regarding Belichick resonated all offseason long. Those calls will be back if the Eagles struggle ahead with the chance to go on the aggressive and capitalize on the winning window with an exceptionally talented roster.

The Eagles visit the Tampa Bay Buccanners, who ended their season last year in the NFC Wild Card round, in Week 4 for another legitimate test early on.
