0

Cranbrook, BC:  The Vernon Vipers dropped their second straight road game, falling 6-1 to the Cranbrook Bucks at Western Financial Place.

Lucas Brennan scored the Vipers’ lone goal on the powerplay, with assists from Adam Csabi and Erik Pastro. Special teams were the difference, as Cranbrook’s powerplay stayed red-hot, going 5-for-6, following a 4-for-5 performance in their previous game.

Matthew Gilmore led the way for the Bucks with three assists, while captain Bryce Sookro scored twice.

In his BCHL debut, Vipers’ goaltender Marko Bilic made 37 saves on 43 shots, including a pair of highlight-reel stops. Cranbrook’s Jaden Cholette, also in his debut, was solid, stopping 29 of 30 shots.

The Vipers will look to regroup with a strong week of practice ahead of their next matchup in West Kelowna on Friday.
