Girls at the weekend…update

What a weekend the Girls had…

We started with the Under 10 and Under 12 squads joining the party on Friday night by playing our half time mini Friday night lights game against Blackrock.  The girls loved the support that was given to them by the 200 strong spectators and were grateful for the opportunity to be part of the start of the AIL this season.  Training continues on Tuesday evenings at Wesley College now starting at 6.30pm.  We cant wait for the Blitz season to start and have our own independent teams playing. Thanks to the parents for the food after the match.

Just over 12 hours later our Under 14’s took to the field for their first Metro League game.  As in last year our girls have joined up with DLSPRFC to create De La Wes.  After a good start we were stung by two rapid tries from Seapoint, although we did score a try before the break.  Three more tries in the second half including one from our scrum half Neary werent enough as the score ended up being 22-33.  Considering this was the first competitive match for the girls, it was a great start to the season. Our next match is away to Greystones this coming Saturday.

Our Under 16’s had a weekend off, but get back into the Metro league this Saturday.
