Albany Co. finds 52 improperly installed car seats
GUILDERLAND, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- According to Albany County officials, not one of the 52 car seats checked at the 40th Annual Traffic Safety Awareness Show and Car Seat Check on Saturday was correctly installed. The show and car seat check was held at Crossgates Mall and commemorated National Seat Check Saturday.
The county also replaced 12 car seats that were either recalled or expired. Some replacements were also given to families using inappropriate car seats for their children.
County Executive Daniel McCoy said proper traffic and vehicle safety shouldn't be taken lightly. He said the county is glad it can continue offering vital opportunities to keep children safe.
"We also continue to find car seats that are not installed properly, need to be replaced or that have been recalled," McCoy said. "This is an opportunity for parents to get their seats inspected to protect their most precious cargo."
