Red-Hot Alex Cora Ejected In First Inning Of Red Sox-Twins

Red Sox manager Alex Cora was told to hit the showers a mere one out into Boston's game against the Minnesota Twins on Sunday afternoon.

It marked the third ejection of the season for Cora, who ran onto the field to argue an obstruction call after Twins manager Rocco Baldelli initially pleaded his case.

Twins leadoff man Byron Buxton was gifted third base with one out in the first after Red Sox second baseman Vaughn Grissom was called for interference at the bag.

The knee drop by Grissom prompted Baldelli to argue the interference, which took place after Red Sox pitcher Nick Pivetta tried to pick off Buxton at second. Buxton was safe at the bag before he advanced to third following Baldelli's plea.

Boston escaped the first inning without surrendering a run to Minnesota. But Cora had to watch from the dugout before he got ready for Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader at Fenway Park.
