Chris McCausland says his daughter is worried he’ll ‘fall off Strictly stage’ as he leaves fans in tears with 1st dance
STRICTLY Come Dancing star Chris McCausland has admitted his daughter is worried he could fall off the TV show’s set during one of his routines.
Stand-up comedian Chris is the first ever blind contestant to take to the Strictly dancefloor and made his debut on the BBC contest last night.

In a new piece for The Telegraph, the star confessed that his lack of vision caused him to be “terrified” about the programme.
Writing for the publication, 46-year-old Chris said: “Have I mentioned that I was terrified?
“I mean, how can I possibly have confidence in my ability to do something when I can’t see the entirely visual thing that I’m being asked to do?
“On top of that, stick it on live TV where failures are there for everybody to see and where the chance of a generous edit is absolute zero, and what could possibly go wrong?”
However, it was words from his 10-year-old daughter Sophie that were the first sign of concern from others about his involvement.
Chris revealed: “I showed my 10-year-old daughter a clip of the show and asked her if I should do it. ‘No, Daddy,’ she said. ‘You’ll fall off the stage and break your leg.’
“She’s a joker at heart, but she’s got a point.”
Looking at her remarks humorously, Chris went on to remark that the joke was on Sophie due to it being one big dancefloor as opposed to a stage.
He continued: “Not quite the ringing endorsement other celebrities get. But I’ve checked and there is no stage so the joke’s on her…”
However, it seems that Sophie has nothing to worry about after her dad’s impressive first week routine.
Chris wowed in his routine with professional partner Dianne Buswell.
The pairing performed a Cha-Cha-Cha routine to The Beatles hit Twist and Shout and scored a respectable 23.
Viewers at home were left in tears as their performance with fans across the country expressing their immense pride towards Chris for his efforts in the routine.
