Richest Man in Bangaluru: Hurun India has published its Rich List, featuring Gautam Adani as the richest man, with a net worth of more than Rs 11.6 lakh crore. According to the list, Mukesh Ambani and family follow him with a net worth of over Rs 10 lakh crore. Shiv Nadar and family rank third, with a combined wealth of Rs 3.14 lakh crore. This year, Hyderabad has overtaken Bengaluru among the cities where India’s richest individuals reside, securing third place. Mumbai unsurprisingly holds the top spot, followed by Delhi, according to the 2024 Hurun India Rich List. However, Bengaluru surpasses other major cities such as Chennai, Ahmedabad, and Pune as home to the most Indian billionaires. But who is the richest man in the Silicon City? Here’s the answer.

List of richest people in Bangaluru

According to the list as many as 27 Indian billionaires live in the silicon city and only cities such as Mumbai and Delhi rank above Bengaluru. Notably, Mumbai has 92 and Delhi has 68 billionaires, respectively. Bengaluru comes in the third position when it comes to the number of Indian billionaires.

Bengaluru’s Richest Man:

Bangalore, India’s IT hub saw a growth in the number of affluent billionaires. The known richest names of the city’s residents are – co-founders of Infosys N R Narayana Murthy, chairperson and Managing Director of Biocon Kiran Mazumdar, and others. But the richest man in the city as per this year’s list is chairman of Wipro Azim Premji with a net worth of Rs 190, 700 crore. Not only that 79-year-old billionaire is also the ninth richest person in the country, as per the Hurun list.

100 Wealthiest People From Bengaluru Entered Richest People List

The report highlights that Hurun’s list of India’s wealthiest included a hundred of the crème de la crème from Bengaluru. But, moving a step ahead, Hyderabad outshined Bengaluru by four more entries, topping it with 104 of its wealthiest making the list. However, the prime position is held by Mumbai with 386 entries, followed by Delhi having 217, respectively.

108 Individuals From Karnataka Entered Richest People List

Karnataka boasts 108 residents named in Hurun’s compilation of India’s richest people, placing this southern province as the sixth wealthiest in the nation.

Hurun India 2023 List

Arjun Menda, standing as the Group Chairman and one among the trio who founded RMZ Corp, boasts a substantial net worth of Rs 37,000 crore, and was the richest person in Bengaluru last year. Stationed in Bangalore, RMZ Corp, a family-owned real estate company, came into being through the entrepreneurial efforts of Menda’s offspring, Raj and Manoj.

Bengaluru, the city famed for unicorn startups, has contributed robustly to India’s economic scale. Notably, Hurun India Rich List 2024 counted a generous 52 founders from 29 such unicorn entities.
