First day of fall in Oregon: Amazing

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- For the first official day of autumn, Oregon has some amazing weather.

Sunday is another great day with temperatures warming up nicely. A ridge of high pressure is in place over the Pacific Northwest and will remain there for the first half of the week. The ridge is forecast to break down mid-week and that will usher in some cooler temperatures and a chance of showers.

But until we get there, sit back and enjoy this beautiful fall weather. Have you noticed that some of the trees are beginning to change colors? That's a sign that even more bright fall colors are yet to come.

Sunday is going to be one of those days where you should get outside, work in the yard or get some exercise. You'll only need a light jacket early in the morning and again later in the evening. It will be t-shirt weather for most of the day.
