Jamie O’Hara urges Daniel Levy not to make a ‘stupid’ decision at Tottenham
Jamie O’Hara believes that Tottenham Hotspur would be shooting themselves in the foot by getting rid of Ange Postecoglou, insisting that the Australian deserves the full season.
It has been a mixed start to the season for Spurs
Although Postecoglou still evidently retains the support of the majority of Spurs fans, an increasingly growing minority are now starting to raise serious questions about his decisions and his credentials to succeed at this level.
They have been left frustrated by the fact that Spurs appear to be losing in the exact same manner over and over again, with the Australian unwilling to change his tactics.
Postecoglou has remained adamant that Tottenham are moving in the right direction, insisting that his side are capable of winning silverware this season (Football.London).
Sacking Postecoglou would be stupid, says O’Hara
O’Hara suggested that the challenge that lies in front of the 59-year-old is by far the biggest one he has faced over his career.
However, the former Spurs midfielder added that Postecoglou has made some positive changes at the club and that the Lilywhites would take a significant step back if they let him go.
O’Hara told Grosvenor Sport: “I hope Ange Postecoglou stays at the club – he’s been good for Tottenham since joining.
“He’s going through a tough time – he was at Celtic where there are only two teams in the league and every other game is a walkover, now he’s in the Premier League where every game is a difficult one and you’re always in the spotlight.
“I think he’ll last the season. It would be stupid to sack him – where will Spurs go if they get rid of him? They play good football, they score goals and they’re a much better side to when he first took over. To even think about sacking him would be stupid.”
Spurs Web Opinion
Despite the reaction we have seen on social media, internally at Spurs, I do not think there would be any panic at all at this stage of the season. We are only five games into the campaign and our performance levels have generally been quite decent, which really showed against Brentford.
