Royals down 9-0 in the sixth and that’s enough baseball for today

You can do whatever you like, but I’ve got better uses for my time than watching this game.

The Royals have had scoring opportunities in every inning so far. They’ve capitalized on none of them. They look alternatingly like they are a tick off, like they are trying too hard, and like they are completely overmatched at the plate.

Brady Singer gave up six runs, the first four were solo home runs. The first of those was in the first inning and, frankly, that seems like it would have been enough to beat the current iteration of this team. But the Giants added on eight more and they’re probably not done.

The Royals could break out of their slump tomorrow and sweep their way into the playoffs and I don’t think it would surprise me. But that future version of the Royals will be there for the future version of me. The present version of me is going to find a good movie to watch and enjoy my Saturday evening.
