Automatik VFX

Automatik VFX is a minimalist space located in Berlin, Germany, designed by RHO. The space, formerly a film post-production facility, is now a carefully zoned environment tailored for the specific needs of post-production work, including a private screening room and dedicated artist spaces. The design employs minimal interventions, creating a flexible, cinematic atmosphere that supports the entire post-production process. At the entrance, visitors encounter a dark space accented by an adjustable light installation, which sets the tone for the experience. As they move through the space, dynamic lighting guides them toward the Red Room, creating a natural progression from entry to screening.

The Red Room is a focal point of the design, offering a private screening environment styled after a classic movie set. Guests are immersed in a cinematic atmosphere, with the option to draw a curtain for added privacy. The built-in lounge, outfitted with red carpets and textiles, offers a comfortable and intimate setting for client presentations. The common area is designed for comfort and casual interaction. Glass tube walls allow natural light to flow in, while built-in furniture and kitchen amenities create functional spaces for everyday use.

Stainless steel surfaces enhance practicality in the kitchen, while red textiles throughout lend warmth to the open space. A meeting room overlooking the river provides a peaceful space for discussions, separated by glass walls that maintain visual connection to the rest of the office while offering privacy. The artist work areas feature glass walls, fostering collaboration while maintaining dedicated spaces for focused work. The glass design also incorporates slight distortion, ensuring discretion for individual projects while maintaining a sense of community within the studio.
