The dog expert, who is known as @yorkshirecanineacademy on TikTok, has six simple steps to follow and he shared them in a video on his account.

Talking to the camera, he says: “Step one, remove your dog from situations that trigger negative forms of expression until step five.

“That might be having the lead on in the house, or just stopping going on walks for a little while.

“Step two, get a vet check and put them on a good diet, and a sleep schedule.

“Reintroduce a crate if you need to.

“Three, teach your dog ultimate forms of expression. Ideally through play and recall.

“This should make up the majority of their exercise needs at this point.

“Four, teach them fundamental obedience such as down, place, and loose lead walking.

“Make sure we use a combination of obligation and reward.

“Making obedience optional won’t get you very far.

“Number five, gradually introduce that obedience into emotionally positive distractions.

“And number six, reintroduce your dog back to things that previously triggered negative expression.

“Start dead easy and progressively, and make it harder.”

Previously another dog expert Will Atherton previously revealed to Fabulous the one breed busy families often regret getting is the Border Collie.

“Border Collies are incredibly talented and excel at tasks like herding sheep,” Will explained. “They’re a delight to watch in action.”

However, he emphasised a common misunderstanding: “People hear that Border Collies are the smartest and most trainable dogs in the world.

“But they mistake ‘most trainable’ for ‘easy to train,’ which isn’t accurate.”

Border Collies have extremely high energy levels and need more physical and mental stimulation than most families can offer.

Without sufficient enrichment, they can become bored and develop behavioural problems such as excessive barking, digging, or destructive chewing.
