ECTOR COUNTY, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- UPDATED: According to jail records, at least two people have been charged with Kidnapping, a third-degree felony, following the Friday evening disappearance of an Odessa boy.

The six-year-old child, identified in an Amber Alert as Maxamillius Dominguez, disappeared from his home around 8:00 p.m. on September 20, prompting a statewide Amber Alert and a massive search by area law enforcement.

Investigators said the child was taken by his dad, 42-year-old Jose Dominguez and that they believed the child was in serious danger.

Following a multi-agency search that extended into Gardendale, the boy was found safe Saturday evening. Sheriff Mike Griffis announced just after 6:00 p.m. on September 21 that the child was in law enforcement custody, but did not say whether he'd been injured amid the ordeal.

While no other details have been released by law enforcement, jail records show that Dominguez, and the boy's mother, identified by family as Venessa Mariscal, have been charged in connection with the child's disappearance. Both remained in custody in the Ector County Law Enforcement Center as of Sunday morning.

We will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.

Ector County Sheriff Mike Griffis said the six-year-old boy missing since Friday night has been found safe.

This came after investigators spent several hours searching in Gardendale on Saturday.

No other details were immediately available. We will update this story as soon as we are able.

The search for a missing Odessa boy continued Saturday as investigators with the Ector County Sheriff's Office, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and others searched an area in Gardendale for signs of the child.

According to witnesses at the scene, a tow truck carried a Cadillac, resembling the one connected with a statewide Amber Alert, away from the search area for processing.

Sheriff Mike Griffis confirmed the teams were searching in the area for the child and also said the child has not yet been located. There's no word yet on whether the kidnapping suspect has been found, but we will continue providing updates as more information becomes available.
