Balloon release held for 19-year-old Ville Platte woman killed in shooting
VILLE PLATTE, La. (KLFY) -- A balloon release was held for 19-year-old Trayonna Williams, who was killed in a shooting last weekend.
The tragic death of Williams has sent shockwaves throughout the community. Her loved ones came together to celebrate her life, saying chants and prayers for justice.
Michael Williams, a loved one of Trayonna, says her life was taken way too soon.
"She had a future in life," WIlliams said. "She was nineteen, young, robbed of a life behind senseless murders. We need justice around here."
Trayonna's little brother and cousins, also at the release, reminisced on their favorite moments they shared with her.
"Every time she would cook I would ask for a plate of food," said Trayonna's little brother.
Trayonna's cousin, Hannah Freeman, describes her as one of a kind.
"For me it would be her just being Trayonna, just a loving person, just sweet, just a beautiful soul, ima miss her cooking cause that girl can throw down," Freeman said.
While the family says they will miss Trayonna deeply, they say her spirit and the love she gave to everyone will continue to resonate in their hearts.
A GoFundMe page has been set up by Trayonna's family to pay for funeral expenses.
