Six people shot in Greenpoint near BQE: NYPD
GREENPOINT, Brooklyn (PIX11) – Six men, some as young as 18, were shot in Greenpoint early Saturday morning, according to the NYPD.
Six men ages 18, 20 and 33 were shot just before 2 a.m. near Stewart Avenue and Cherry Street, just below the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, police said. All but one were in stable condition, police said. One 18-year-old was fighting for his life after being shot in the chest, police said.
The men were taken to the hospital by other people, not first responders.
At least eight shots were fired near the intersection, police said. Police are still searching for two people they believe were involved in the shooting.
