Mustang Lions Club working towards new projects

MUSTANG, Okla. (KFOR) — The Mustang Lions Club is one step closer to completing a dream project at their headquarters that will benefit Oklahomans with physical challenges.

Their goal is to build a handicapped accessible fishing dock along the pond located next to the Mustang Lions Club headquarters, for those wanting to visit and enjoy a nice day of fishing, a picnic, or any outdoor event.

Rob Estes, President of the Mustang Lions Club, says this project is important and will make it a little easier for people in wheelchairs to enjoy the great outdoors in our state.

"Someone within a wheelchair that loves to fish but can't, well, now have the chance because this is a specially built fishing dock for wheelchairs," said Estes.

That's not all the work that is being done at the Mustang Lions Club. They are also getting a new roof for the second time in 60 years.

Estes says the organization has been raising money over the past two years in order to replace the old roof of the building.

The Mustang Lions Club is a non-profit organization that hosts events and fundraisers to support many causes and those in need around the Mustang community.

There is still more work to be on with the Mustang Lions Club project. If you'd like to donate and help them, you can find their Venmo by clicking here.
