0

Turkish media reported the arrest of 32 undocumented Pakistani and Afghan migrants in various parts of the country.

According to Turkish reports, 32 migrants from Afghanistan and Pakistan were arrested on Friday, September 20, by police in the city of Edirne.

The reports indicate that these migrants had entered the country illegally without residence documents and were apprehended by Turkish police.

The arrested Afghan and Pakistani migrants were identified and detained during operations in the villages of Meriç, İpsala, Lalapaşa, and Uzunköprü at checkpoints.

Meanwhile, Edirne city police recently announced that they have launched operations across the country to prevent illegal migration. The police further stated that this process will continue in the coming days.

Previously, the Turkish government had announced that it would continue identifying and deporting undocumented migrants across all cities.

It is noteworthy that Turkey remains one of the main routes for Afghan migrants trying to reach Europe, with many of them entering the country through Iran.

Turkey’s efforts to curb illegal immigration are intensifying as the country remains a key transit point for migrants seeking to cross into Europe, particularly from Afghanistan and Pakistan.
