Hunter On City Clash & Nearing 300 Games
Centre-back Siobhan Hunter discussed her starring role in the Hibs backline, the team's start to the new season and the pride of nearing another Hibees landmark this week.
The girls come into the next game following a convincing 6-1 victory over Queen's Park at Meadowbank last weekend - in which Hunter made her seventh consecutive start to kick off the new campaign.
Speaking to Hibs TV ahead of Sunday's SWPL clash versus Glasgow City at Petershill Park, Shiv believes the squad is in a good place heading into the match.
"I think the table speaks for itself, we have done well this year. We’ve done well in the dressing not to get too high or too low with the results.
"It can be easy to get carried away with the results we have had. We have done well not to get over-exciting or underestimate our opponents.
"We’ve had a good start but we can always do more. We want to challenge at the top again."
After struggling with injuries and knocks throughout last season, Hunter is pleased to have been able to feature more often this season from the get-go.
"Having a good pre-season — after missing last season's pre-season through injury — has helped me go into the season.
"I think I’ve done pretty well so I just want to keep going, while always learning and striving to do more."
Hunter's starting role has helped her near a landmark 300 appearances for her childhood club.
"To represent this club once or 300 times, it doesn’t matter to me," Shiv told Hibs TV.
"It only matters to me to play for this club.
"It’s something I’m really proud of, something that I’ve really wanted to do since being a little a girl."
