Lasith Malinga reacts to Virat Kohli’s ‘Malinga bana hua’ remark during Ind vs BAN 1st test

New Delhi: Former Sri Lankan pacer Lasith Malinga reacted to a viral video where Virat Kohli was seen talking to Shakib Al Hasan, comparing young fast bowler Hasan Mahmud with the Sri Lankan legend. Despite Kohli’s brief stay at the crease on Friday, he still managed to mesmerize fans during the second day of the ongoing Chennai Test against Bangladesh.

The former Indian captain, Virat Kohli, was caught on camera and by stump mics playfully telling Shakib Al Hasan that Hasan Mahmud was consistently bowling yorkers as if he were Lasith Malinga.

The video quickly went viral on social media, catching the attention of Lasith Malinga himself. On Saturday, the Sri Lankan legend responded by taking to social media, writing, “Niyamai malli (Great, brother).”

Kohli managed to score just 17 off 37 deliveries, following his run-a-ball six in the first innings. He was trapped leg-before late on Friday by off-spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz. After a brief discussion with his batting partner, Kohli chose not to review the decision and walked back to the dressing room. However, replays later revealed that he had edged the ball onto his pads, meaning he would have been not out had he opted for the review.
